What you will need
- A pack of Marynaty Shish Taouk β Chicken Skewers (500 g or 1 kg)
- Skewer sticks (if the meat is not already skewered)
- A little oil for the grill or pan
- Optional: fresh parsley, lemon and pita bread for serving
Step-by-step preparation
1. Take the meat out of the fridge about 10 minutes before cooking so it reaches room temperature β this way it cooks evenly.
2. Preheat the grill or a grill pan over medium heat. If you are using a pan, add a little oil.
3. Grill the skewers for 10β15 minutes, turning them from time to time, until the meat is golden on all sides and fully cooked through. On a pan, 10β12 minutes is enough.
4. Check doneness β the meat should be white inside, with no pink parts. The juices running from the chicken should be clear.
5. Rest for 2β3 minutes before serving so the juices redistribute evenly.
Tips from Marynaty
Want a restaurant-style result? At the end of grilling, turn up the heat for 30 seconds so the meat chars slightly at the edges β it adds a signature smoky aroma. If you use an air fryer, set it to 180Β°C and cook for 12β15 minutes, turning halfway through.
How to serve Shish Taouk
Classically, the skewers are served with warm pita bread, garlic sauce (toum) and a fresh salad. They also pair beautifully with rice, grilled vegetables or hummus.
